BUSINESS AND TOURISM VISA (B1 / B2)
People traveling to the United States for tourism or business need B1 / B2 visas, unless they qualify for the Visa Waiver Program. All visa applicants, including children and infants, must obtain their own visa.
Business persons temporarily enter the United States on a B-1 visa, while those who enter temporarily for pleasure need a B-2 visa. People who plan to travel to the US for a different purpose such as students, temporary workers, crew members, journalists, etc., must apply for a different visa in the appropriate category.
Qualification to obtain Visa Applicants for visit visas must demonstrate that they qualify under the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Law. The law assumes that each visa applicant is an applicant who intends to immigrate. Therefore, applicants for a visit visa must overcome this assumption by demonstrating that:
- The purpose of the trip is to enter the United States for business or pleasure;
- They plan to stay for a specific and limited period;
- They have residence outside the United States, as well as other binding obligations that ensure their return at the end of the visit.
